Family-run plastic-free brand and eco shop recognised in Sherborne Business Awards.

Wendy Lane-Beale and Kev Lane are the driving forces behind the Red Panda Eco Shop on South Street, Sherborne. Their focus is on eco-friendly and sustainably sourced products, which has led to them collecting the Green/Eco Business of the Year award at the 2024 Sherborne Business Awards.

Their shelves are stocked with everything from wellies to garden pots and backpacks to cushions, all completely plastic-free. Buyers receive all their goodies in parcels with recycled paper or repurposed cardboard, secured only using paper tape. Plus, there is an online shop, so they have everything covered.

The shop is a testament to the hard work, passion and almost limitless energy of Wendy and Kev. Not satisfied with just this venture, they are also organic fruit and vegetable growers (produce also available in the shop) and teach other aspiring gardeners the ‘No Dig’ concept via Instagram and YouTube. On hearing the news of their win, Wendy said,

We are both absolutely thrilled to have won the Green Eco Business of the Year Award! It has been a great honour to win alongside such other brilliant Sherborne businesses after only opening our shop just over a year ago.

We’d like to say a massive thank you to all our wonderful customers, to everyone who nominated us and to The Sherborne Business Awards!

Church House sponsor the Green/Eco Business of the Year Award, and Head of Private Clients, James Johnsen, was thrilled to see such worthy winners.

The Red Panda Eco Shop is a fantastic addition to the local high street and will help encourage the community to shop more sustainably. The environmental challenge we face may be big, but if collectively, we can all make a change, it is one we can meet. Hats off to Wendy and Kev for inspiring us to do just that.
