Respected fund research business Rayner Spencer Mills Research, has added the Church House Tenax Absolute Return Strategies Fund to its list of rated funds.
The £190m Fund was awarded the rating following a detailed assessment process. The quantitative analysis looks at measures including performance, charges, volatility and fund size, while the qualitative review explores features such as manager experience, process and risk controls. Their full methodology is available at https://members.rsmgroup.co.uk
RSMR highlighted that Tenax has an extremely experienced fund management team that aims to produce a positive return over rolling twelve-month periods and has achieved this through most market conditions. Furthermore, they stated that volatility levels have been very well controlled due to the relatively low equity exposure and the ability to significantly de-risk the portfolio when required.
Church House CEO and one of the Tenax Fund Managers, James Mahon, said, “We’re proud to have achieved this rating from such a highly respected agency. Since inception of the Fund in 2007, our objective has always been to provide consistent returns at low levels of volatility with capital preservation as a central tenet”.
Tenax recently won two 2018 Lipper Awards for 3 and 5 year performance, repeating the success of the previous year and not long after receiving the Platinum Award in the Absolute Return category in the 2018 Portfolio Adviser Wealth Manager Awards.
Managed by James Mahon and FE Alpha Manager Jeremy Wharton, Tenax is designed for investors looking for consistent positive returns, on a rolling twelve-month basis, with a strong focus on capital preservation. It is an excellent example of ‘objective based investing’ having been initially established to meet the needs of a private client investor. The Fund has delivered a positive return in 8 out of the last 10 complete years and it now features on the exclusive Chelsea Financial Services Core Funds List.
